The tunic dates from Roman times.

Women in the Roman Empire wore a tunic. The tunic was a long piece of linen, wool or cotton, which was tied around the waist with a belt. Our tunic is of course nowadays, wearable in different ways. As an oversized blouse on trousers or tight pants, but also cool on thick tights or leggings as a short dress. The tunic is always shorter than a dress, but longer than a blouse or top .
